3 August, 2016
Eighty years ago today, on 3 August 1936, George Heywood Hill opened his bookshop on Curzon Street. We hope he would be as intensely proud as we are to have reached this milestone. Earlier today we raised a glass in memory of George and Anne Hill and all who have worked here over the years. We have endured because of the hard work of several generations of booksellers, the support of publishers and book-dealers, and above all the loyalty of our extraordinary group of customers around the world. Our thanks go out to them all.
