Follow the installation of Michael Craig-Martin's pop art steel sculptures at Chatsworth. Set around the grounds of the great house, his striking neon pop art pieces play with the interface between old and new and have been enjoyed by the legion art pilgrims visiting Chatsworth. The book also tracks Craig-Martin's curation of some of the great treasures from the Devonshire collection, placing various neoclassical sculptures on bright pink plinths and showcasing an arresting selection of drawings from the Old Master Drawings Cabinet, including drawings by Hans Holbein, Annibale Carracci, and Ghirlandaio. This book is a welcome insight into what has been an important collaboration between artist and collector, modernity and tradition.
