Joining a slew of recent books on all things Bloomsbury, this is a clear-sighted account of the often contradictory figure of David Garnett. This has variously been called 'the biography David Garnett deserved' (Evening Standard) and 'a most original guide to inner Bloomsbury' (Michael Holroyd). Certainly recommended reading for those keen to understand more of Duncan Grant's lover and virtual son-in-law although at 600-plus pages it is not for the faint-hearted.
