Author: Louise Doughty
Genre: Fiction
Category: New Books
Recommended by bookseller Karin Scherer:
"I have stuck with Doughty ever since her first book and the books are getting darker and darker and more and more political but I think they are better for it. This one is partly set in Indonesia at Suharto's time but it also moves between Europe during the Cold War and California and the Civil Rights struggle. It is a masterful novel about the secrets in one man's past and the possibility of redemption. I went to a reading and was so taken with the book that I started it straight away."
